Clameurs – album release !

CLAMEURS - Album release
Friday, 20 march - Studio de l'Ermitage (Paris XXe)

Clameurs is the current repertoire played and toured by the orchestra. It will also be the name of our tenth album at the beginning of this year. An album recorded in bits and pieces during the orchestra’s work sessions in very different places, depending on our residencies. One, two, three pieces were recorded each time in the atmosphere of the moment. We now have a nice handful of these takes that have been put together.

Because that’s the way things are these days, in mid-March we will be offering a digital album, accompanied, as we like to do, by a beautiful and playful visual object. This time, it will be a set of cards to be assembled, giving the curious and tenacious access to little hidden surprises, like Easter eggs. Our friend Guadalupe has brought out her finest pencils to fill our music with colour and imagination…

To mark the release of this album together, on 20 March we will be playing our good old Ermitage, loading our bags with a few amusing trifles to literally play this festive concert with you…

La bamboche à bambins

The aim of this project is to offer a large-scale concert specifically for young audiences, and to truly share it: being together on stage, looking at each other, listening to each other and playing the music of this ephemeral orchestra together, bringing together the Surnatural Orchestra and its young audience (as well as their accompanying adults, of course!). Preceded by a few moments of sharing and introduction to different musical forms and practices: the siku (Andean pan flute with 4 or 6 reeds), body rhythm or sound painting… these concerts, which are cheerful and of a duration suitable for young children, aim to overwhelm their audience, encourage them to share and draw them into a collective musical fervour that often borders on dancing.

S - entropie

With ‘S’, we are embarking on the creation of a comprehensive musical story, written entirely for the first time by a single musician-composer from the orchestra, Nicolas Stephan. His original music, distilled over many years at the heart of the repertoire, is conceived here as a continuous whole, a complete form for an hour of music experienced in a single thread, an adventure that is at once musical, graphic and theatrical… Guadalupe Marin (images) and Marie XXX (movement) will accompany us. Although the ensemble will only be seen and heard at the end of next summer, we are already immersed in it and will move forward piece by piece until then.

Cosmo*phonie

The musical circus show recently created by the collective will take on a new form this year, designed to be performed outdoors: at festivals, village squares, city courtyards, fields or small gardens. The aim is to present the show in the cosy setting of wooden bleachers (which will be acquired shortly). Cosmophonie will become even more of a whole, a place where people can come together in sound and become one.
